It is now much later into the future, during the time of Wall-E.  As almost all of the recourses on Earth are used up, a little Trash Compacter robot by the name of Wall-E is the only thing on the planet.  He marvels at the objects and trinkets left behind by the humans, and at all wonders Homo sapiens got to prosper around.  His excitement for the links to the peoples’ culture keeps him going, and his friendship with a cockroach helps Wall-E preserve his personality and curious nature.  He is able to maintain his purpose for living, even though all the other forms of life, including humans and machines, live on ‘Axiom’.  Though when he later meets the high-tech space android Eva, Wall-E has the opportunity to rebuild the world that his imagination lives in, with the small sprout they found together.  And soon after the beginning credits for the film, the viewer can see that the shoe was planted, and that roots have begun to flourish around it, granting life to a healthy tree.
